JP15U 15 kV Non-destructive High Voltage Insulation Resistance Tester

JP15U High Voltage Insulation Resistance Tester is a 15 kV non-destructive insulation tester for portable use as well as for bench work. JP15U for 100-240 V AC mains and 12 V DC external power. 
For portable use, the JP15U JP15 High Voltage Insulation Resistance Tester can be fitted with an optional 12 V 2 Ah rechargeable, maintenance-free battery.

Ionization Indication

 

 

 An active L.P. filter in series with an integrated audio amplifier feeds a loudspeaker providing an audible ionization indication. 
Amplifier gain is adjusted with a potentiometer. An output panel connector provides external indication on headphones or on an oscilloscope. 
Min. load 100Ω.
Meter Outputs 5V full-scale meter outputs are provided on a panel connector. 
Min. load 10kΩ.
Guard Terminal  For connection to guard electrode. Current to this terminal bypasses the current meter.
Test Voltage

 

 

 0-7,5 kV and 0-15 kV DC; adjusted by means of a 10-turn potentiometer.
Test voltage is applied to an insulated test probe via a shielded coaxial cable. The probe is equipped with a high tension switch and is terminated with a 4 mm straight tip.
Test Voltage Switch

 

 The high tension is switched on with the H.T. switch located on the test probe. A panel connector for external switching is located on the front panel.
Voltmeter Three ranges, 7.5 kV and 15kV full-scale.
Accuracy ±5%.
Max Output Current Approximately 300µA from 0 to 15 kV, and when shortened.
Current Meter Three ranges 1 µA - 10 µA - 100 µA full scale.
Accuracy: ±5%.
Resolution 20 nA.

Output Resistance

 Approximately 200 kΩ at 15kV decreasing to 120kΩ below 1kV,measured by I out = 100 µA
Power Supply 100-130 V and 200-260 V AC 45-400 Hz,15-30 VA, depending on output voltage and current. 12-13 V DC max 2 A from external source or from optional battery.
