The HD 4044 Controller temperature regulator thermostat is an ON/OFF regulator with relay output
(1 exchange contact 5A/22OV resistive).
The setting of the intervention temperature (set point) is carried out by pressing the button on the left
of the front panel of the instrument and turning the knob on the right until the temperature at which the relay contact is to open is shown on the display.
Hysteresis may be adjusted with a trimmer at the rear of the instrument.
The temperature sensor is a silicon resistance (KTY81 A) with a positive temperature coefficient.
At 25°C the resistance is 1000 ohm.

As both the resistance and the temperature coefficient (±0.7%/°C) are considerably higher than those of a
Pt100 sensor, the influence of the resistance on the connection cables is much less than with a Pt100. However, the precision and wide measuring range are more favorable with Pt100 sensors.
The interchangeability of KTY81A sensor is ±1.2°C at 25°C. The thermostat may be used either for heating or for cooling, simply by moving the jumper at the rear of the instrument. When the jumper is in HEATING position, the relay is energized if the probe temperature is lower than the set temperature;
when the jumper is in COOLING position, the relay is energized if the probe temperature is higher than
the set temperature.

Measuring range: -50...+150°C.
Resolution: 0.1°C.
Display: LED, height 12.7 mm.
Precision (probe included): ±0.7°C at 25°C, reaching ±13°C at the extremes of the range, interchangeable probes (stricter tolerances are possible with individual calibrations).
