PCI
INTERFACE CARD
|
|
|
The PCI-MAXI (Multi - Adapter -
eXtender - Interface) Arinc 429 Card provides
by far the most flexible platform for today's demanding test and OEM
applications. The card features a common clock for all time tagging
registration of data and single generation of PC interrupts from the various
modules fitted to the card and provides a common master platform for
all types of data bus interface that need to be interfaced to the PCI bus.

The card is a full length PCI version 2.1 compliant interface
card designed to accept up to four standard YED Mini-Module Interface cards. Support for ARINC419/429/575 and PANAVIA are
currently available.
For example, the card shown is a 8
transmit and 8 receive independent
(non-multiplexed) ARINC 429 (16)
channels. In addition to this special
interface application modules can be designed to order.

Interface Configurations and Functional
Characteristics
The PCI-MAXI has four module sites available for interfaces.
It can support either similar or different interface types. So it is possible
to have an ARINC429 2 transmit, 2 receive Mini-Module mounted on one site with
a PANAVIA Mini-Module mounted on a second site, thus providing a mixed
ARINC429 and PANAVIA solution on a single card.
A common clock is available to all Mini-Modules including
those mounted on the Slave PCI-MAXI card, thus providing synchronized
operation of features such as time tag registers. Interrupts generated by each
Mini-Module are handled by the on card Interrupt Control Logic, which in turn
are responsible for generating the PCI interrupt.
An Interrupt Status Register
identifies the interrupting Module.
The card is fully 'plug-and-play' making installation very straight
forward.

Interface
Module Types (MINI-MODULES):
MINI-429/T2/R2
The MINI-429/T2/R2
ARINC 429 Interface comprises of two
independent transmitter channels that act as Bus Traffic
Simulators and two independent receiver
channels that provide advanced Monitor and Analyzer
functions. The functions on the four channels are available
concurrently at full performance level. In addition to this the
card also contains, a microprocessor, a time
tag register, 28 volt Event input, Opto-coupled inputs, Auto-Rx Speed
Adaption, Data Acquisition FIFO's, and Dual Port. The
specification is similar to the PC4/T2/R2
PC ISA card.
MINI-429/T4
The MINI-429/T4 ARINC 429 Interface comprises of
four independent transmitter channels
that act as Bus Traffic Simulators. The functions on the four channels
are available concurrently at
full performance level.
The card
contains a microprocessor, Dual Port and ARINC429 line drivers.
The
specification is similar to the
PC4/T4 PC
ISA card.
MINI-429/R4
The
MINI-429/R4 ARINC 429 Interface
comprises of four independent
receiver channels that
provide advanced Monitor and Analyzer functions.
The functions on the
four channels are available
concurrently at full performance
level. In addition to this the card also contains, a microprocessor, a
time tag register, 28 volt Event input, Opto-coupled inputs, Auto-Rx
Speed Adaption, Data Acquisition
FIFO's, and Dual Port. The card will filter from all 256 label/SDI
combinations.
The specification is similar to the PC4/R4
PC ISA card.
MINI-PANAVIA/T3
The
MINI-PANAVIA/T3 PANAVIA
Interface comprises of three
independent transmitter channels
that act as Bus Traffic Simulators. The functions on the three channels
are available concurrently at
full performance level.
The card
contains a microprocessor, Dual Port and line drivers.

MINI-PANAVIA/R4
The MINI-PANAVIA/R4
PANAVIA Interface comprises of four
independent receiver channels that
provide advanced Monitor and Analyzer functions. The functions on the
four channels are available concurrently
at full performance level. In
addition to this the card also contains, a microprocessor, line
receivers and Dual Port.
The card will filter any of the 32 TAGS
combinations.
Status information on the presence of the PANAVIA clock is
also provided.
